Loser tells the story of Donald Zinkoff, a boy who doesn’t quite fit in at school. He runs slower than the other kids, laughs loudly, and often makes mistakes during games and class activities. Because of this, many classmates call him a “loser.”

But Zinkoff sees the world differently. He finds joy in simple things—helping others, exploring his neighborhood, and appreciating everyday moments that others overlook.

Through Zinkoff’s journey, the story gently asks an important question: What does it really mean to win in life?

Rather than focusing on popularity or competition, the book celebrates kindness, courage, empathy, and the quiet strength of being yourself. It is a touching and thoughtful story that encourages young readers to see value in people who are different.

This heartfelt novel is perfect for children learning about friendship, confidence, and the importance of standing out instead of simply fitting in.
